Wednesday at the Square 2023

Wednesday at the Square, sponsored by the Young Leadership Council of New Orleans, presents a series of free outdoor concerts featuring well-known local artists. The weekly concert series highlights a variety of indigenous musical styles, including jazz, rock, funk, swamp-pop, Latin rhythms and more. New Orleans’ most famous brass bands are known to play at this annual concert series. Plus, admission is FREE and open to the public.

The 2023 Wednesday at the Square Concert Series will take place at Lafayette Square Park. The 2023 dates and line-up are:

  • March 15 - Water Seed + The Rumble ft. Chief Joseph Boudreaux, Jr. 
  • March 22 - Maggie Koerner + Louis Michot
  • March 29 - Galactic ft. Anjelika "Jelly" Jospeh + YUSA
  • April 5 - Mia Borders + The Quickening
  • April 12 - The Suffers + Trumpet Mafia
  • April 19 - The Iceman Special + Zita
  • April 26 - George Porter Jr. & Runnin' Pardners + Joy Clark
  • May 3 - The Soul Rebels + Tonya Boyd-Cannon
  • May 10 - Nigel Hall + Miss Mojo
  • May 17 - glbl wrmng + LeTrainiump

Is there food and drink?

All around Lafayette Square are food booths and concessions offering local culinary specialties: everything from entrée items to delicious desserts. Plus, you’ll be able to purchase a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Major credit and debit cards are accepted at all vendors. To use cash, please visit the Cash Exchange tent to load up a special gift card. No outside food or beverages may be brought into any of the events.

Is there parking?

For those who drive to the event, parking is available in nearby garages or on the adjacent streets where there are parking meters. Paid, on-street parking ends at 7:00 p.m., so bring enough quarters to feed the meters until then. Cars parked by expired meters or not displaying a paid parking receipt on the dashboard will be ticketed. 

Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed in the square during the concerts, provided they are on a leash no longer than six feet at all times. If they display aggressive behavior the owner may be asked to remove them.
